Nightingale is a portrait of South African singer Miriam Makeba, born 4th March 1932. At just 18 days old, Miriam Makeba and her mother were unjustly jailed for 6 months by way of the harsh reality of apartheid. Throughout her life she endured countless traumatic experiences. Nevertheless, she persevered, captivating people with her enchanting voice and endearing presence. Reaching great success worldwide, she used her platform to raise awareness advocating against apartheid, political violence and seeking justice for her country.
